Comparison point 1: FFB feel — G PRO takes the win in GT7
My conclusion after assessing FFB feel in GT7 is clear.
For richness of feel, expressiveness, and compatibility with GT7, the Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel takes the win. GT7's parameter settings for the Logitech G PRO are exceptionally finely tuned. If you set the maximum force-feedback torque to around 5 N·m as recommended, it can deliver a surprisingly realistic driving experience. In particular, I felt the Logitech G PRO was better at conveying fine details such as the roughness of the road surface and the state of tyre grip.

Comparison point 2: Usable torque range — 8–18 N·m is more than enough
In my experience, even when I use a Simucube 2 Sport (around 17 N·m), I find that around 7 N·m of torque in actual driving—and sometimes around 5 N·m—is enough. In a real car with power steering, you almost never need as much as 5 N·m of force.

Based on my hands-on philosophy that “5–7 N·m is the torque you actually use when driving,” all three wheels have more than enough usable torque. Even the DD Pro's 8 N·m has plenty in reserve; realistically, the DD Extreme's 18 N·m is arguably overkill.

Q1. Do you really need a DD racing wheel for PS5?
A. You do not “need” one, but the difference in experience is clear. When upgrading from a HORI Apex (no FFB; ¥16,000) to a DD racing wheel, viewer examples show a difference in immersion, with their driving time increasing by 1.5–2 times.
Q2. Is the difference between the DD Pro and DD Extreme worth ¥100,000?
A. There is a clear difference in feel. The 18 N·m output and Quick Release 2 were rated as making “the car's texture one or two levels better.” That said, some also feel the DD Pro is enough if your goal is simply to set fast times, so it depends on how you will use it.
Q3. Does the G PRO RW's TRUEFORCE work outside GT7?
A. It depends on game support. In my experience, it is effective in iRacing. In GT7, setting it too strong produces unnatural vibration, so it needs adjustment.
A. If your absolute priority is setting lap times in GT7 / GT Sport, it remains a strong candidate. Since the successor T598 has arrived, it makes sense to compare it with the T598 before buying new.
